Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Media Cleanup Shopify application ("the Service") provided by Media Cleanup ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using Media Cleanup, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.
1. Description of service
Media Cleanup is a Shopify application that scans your store's media library to identify unused files, provides storage analytics, and enables safe deletion of unused media. The Service also includes AI-powered alt text generation for product images on eligible plans.
2. Eligibility and account
To use Media Cleanup, you must have a valid Shopify store and a Shopify account in good standing. You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind your business to these Terms. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Billing and payment
Media Cleanup uses a monthly subscription model billed through Shopify. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the following:
- Charges are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system at the rate for your selected plan
- A 3-day free trial is included with every plan — no credit card is required to start a trial
- Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled before the renewal date
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with reasonable advance notice
AI alt text credits are included per plan and reset monthly. Unused credits do not carry over to the next billing cycle.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to process or manage content that violates any applicable law or third-party rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract any part of the Service
- Use automated tools to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent
- Use the Service in a way that violates Shopify's Partner Program policies
5. File deletion and data safety
Media Cleanup identifies files that are not referenced in your store and moves them to a trash bin before any permanent deletion. You are responsible for reviewing files before confirming permanent deletion. We strongly recommend:
- Reviewing the list of files identified as unused before deleting
- Using the 30-day trash recovery window if you need to restore a file
- Maintaining your own backups of any media files you consider important
We are not liable for any data loss resulting from file deletions you confirm within the Service.
6. Intellectual property
Media Cleanup and all associated intellectual property remain the sole property of Media Cleanup. Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership rights in our software or AI models.
Alt text generated by the AI feature is provided for your commercial use. You are free to edit, publish, and modify generated alt text as you see fit.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the scan results will identify every unused file with perfect accuracy, or that AI-generated alt text will be suitable for every image without review.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Media Cleanup shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may cancel your subscription or uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon uninstallation, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Shopify app interface. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
